Didn't eat in, however we called literally 10minutes before they closed and they were really cool about us ordering, even gave us a few free things and discounts. The staff were lovely and the food, probably the best tasting chippy in swansea. Next time I have a chippy I'm coming back here Update: came here again last night and the food was lovely, had a burger and chips, and sausage and chips. Ee were stuffed and the prices are good! Staff were friendly, its our favourite chippy and the best one we've been too.

Excellent fish and chips from the Frier in the flat cap. Very busy on Wednesday when we called in on way to football. The three of us were last in the queue but were promised fresh fish if we waited. We did and the resulting food was well fried, not under cooked and not dripping in oil. One of the best on our away trips this season. Charlie and football friends.

Me and my sister regularly come here, it was my partners turn to try. I've just gobbled the best chips in my life, the fishcake was insane. I am please to say the baby even enjoyed, for almost 3 months pregnant thats saying something. The delivery driver was actually decent and not like those arrogant ones... We will be popping by and having this chippy tea in style. Btw Curry Sauce was unique and different better than chippy down by mums we go to now and then! I am literally jumping for joy over this order. My partner will be too! Superb. Called in for a second time on Good Friday '25. Lovely Owner & Staff, restaurant spotless and Haddock, Chips & a salad garnish for 9.95 per person. Just outstanding ! Long may they prosper.

Wow. What a wonderful place. We visited swansea for a few days and don't know the area. Found this place on the net. They even cooked the fish in separate oil because we didn't want it cooked in the same oil as the sausages. The staff are awesome. Thank you, everyone, especially the cook

*Updated * Had to update to 5 from 4 stars just cos the fish n chips i just had from there were absolute perfection,fresh fish cooked by John(or Jonathan?) Was the best piece of fish ive had anywhere,no soggy bits in the batter at all and fish still soft and flaky perfection inside,a real skill to that im sure! Earlier points still stand re cost but as explained by owner in his reply,his costs are thro the roof, still means its an irregular treat nowadays but still,if you want a treat then you couldn't do much better than the fish n chips from here! Lovely clean and modern decor,staff lovely and the lad on the fish cooking has it nailed!

My friend and I were was visiting Wales (from Canada) and after a hard day of castle hopping wanted a good fish-and-chips meal. We googled and Hiks came up so we thought we'd try there. It was really, really good. The batter on the fish was so light and crispy, and you get a good sized piece of fish. The french fries were great too, local potatoes, nice and crispy on the outside and done perfectly inside. You get a lot of french fries with the full order! And the tartar sauce was delicious too. The people working in the restaurant were lovely to us. It was a bit later, so we were the only ones there and they had probably wanted to close up early! Aug 31, 2024

Very good fish and chips. Good, clean, fresh white fish with a lovely side salad and a sprig of fresh parsley. There is other foods available here too. Nice high bench seats at the tables which is an ideal eating position. Staff and service were friendly and excellent. UPDATE:- Has this place changed? Unlike so many other places, the top notch place has maintained their high quality standards. Their fish remains top quality, unlike so many other places that have resorted to using cheaper, poorer quality fish. I thoroughly enjoyed my food here. Well done Hik's and all the excellent staff.
